In 2013, a nineteen-year-old computer science student from the University of Tartu, Markus Villig, decided to create his own transportation service. With only five thousand euros received from his parents, he started working on an application whose aim was to make it easier to order traditional taxis in Tallinn. To acquire the first users, he personally visited taxi stands and convinced drivers to register in the system.
Bolt began operating in Poland in 2017, dynamically developing its transport network and gaining more and more popularity.
